The strength of Made in Italy has been it's excellent quality, utility and tradition by craftsmanship. Actually Gucci, Prada, Fendi.. etc. all of them were originally shops for leather crafts and fur crafts. However, Italian fashion in the past wasn't innovative enough as Paris fashion. 50's, Italian fashion collection started in Florence to appeal the Italian quality to the United States. 70's, the collection moved to Milan, organized better, supported by the silk and textile industries around Milan. The Milan style was mix of sexy, modern and traditional.

U.S. Market focused that soon, and many Italian brands advanced rapidly in America. Here, the emergence of ARMANI. 80's, Armani started to deliver his costumes to Hollywood.

The costumes for Richard Gere in the title role of American Gigolo were so successful.

He has designed clothes not only for the movies, and also for celebrities who attend to film awards like the Academy Awards. As a result, Giorgio Armani settled as a luxury brand. The 80's collection in Milan, Gianni Versace, Giorgio Armani and Gianfranco Ferré were protagonists. Then in late 80's, Dolce & Gabbana arrived. Milan has grown into a fashion city like Paris. 90's, Gucci with an american designer Tom Ford, Prada with it's practical nylon bag, they revived in the world fashion seen.
